Hard bottoms are just what it sounds like – bottoms with a hard surface. For many of us, the rocky shore comes to mind, but it’s much more than that. Beneath the surface it looks the same as on land, just water-filled. Thus, there are steep rock ledges, caves, ridges and flat rocks here too. There are also various hard things that we humans have tossed into the water – ranging from big wrecks to small glass bottles.
Different animals and plants prefer different habitats. Inside Havets Hus, you can become better acquainted with the animals living on the rocky shore, crabs and lobsters in cairns and the lovely excavated fileclam who likes living in under-water caves’ ceilings.
