SOFT BOTTOMS

In the group Soft bottoms we find sandy shore, but also gravel and clay. Actually, mud flats are our most common habitat on Earth, found at the depth of a few kilometers. Many animals living on soft bottoms are rarely seen because they live underground.

At Havets Hus, you can see the dynamic life of the eelgrass meadows, the fierce sharks living a bit deeper and the incredibly beautiful fireworks anemone and sea pens living on the quiet mud flats. Did you know that the latter animals are related to corals?
